ACURAWATCH®

A suite of enhanced innovative safety and driver-assistive technologies engineered to help enhance driver awareness, avoid collisions, and mitigate the severity of an impact.

  • Digital rendering, where everything is white except for the MDX. Rear view of grey MDX taking a turn on a road. Blue sensor lines emit from the front, detecting the dashed lane line.
    Lane Keeping Assist System* (LKAS)

The improved LKAS* is engineered to gently correct your steering if you begin to leave a detected lane without signalling, applying torque progressively to the steering to help guide you back to the centre of the lane.

    U.S. model shown.
  • Digital rendering, where everything is white except for the MDX. 3/4 side rear view of grey MDX driving on road. Blue sensor lines and red waves emitting from the front of the MDX detect the car in front.
    Forward Collision Warning* (FCW)

The FCW* system is designed to detect the presence of vehicles in front of you and issue audible, visual, and tactile alerts if you’re approaching with too much speed. If you fail to respond, CMBS®* is triggered into operation.

  • Digital rendering, where everything is white except for the MDX. 3/4 side rear view of grey MDX driving on road. Blue sensor lines and waves emitting from the front of the MDX detect the car in front.
Adaptive Cruise Control* (ACC) with Low-Speed Follow

The ACC* system is engineered to help reduce driver fatigue by maintaining a constant speed and a set following interval behind the vehicle detected ahead, including the ability to slow, stop, and start with the flow of traffic. And, with the new customizable Curve Speed Assist, you can have extra peace of mind knowing it was designed to help you maintain control in curves.

  • Digital rendering, where everything is white except for the MDX. Rear view of grey MDX taking a turn on a road. Blue sensor lines emit from the front, detecting the solid line on the edge of the road.
    Road Departure Mitigation* (RDM) System

With improved Lane Departure Warning and Steering Assist functions, the RDM* system is designed to help steer and even apply brake pressure if it detects that your vehicle may leave the road.

    Collision Mitigation Braking System™* (CMBS®)

With an improved radar, camera, and field of view, CMBS®* is engineered to help reduce the likelihood or severity of a frontal impact by applying light brake pressure if you don’t respond to FCW* system alerts. If it still senses an imminent collision, CMBS®* is designed to brake forcefully.

  • Digital rendering, where everything is white except for the MDX. Bird’s eye view of grey MDX reversing out of a parking spot. Yellow sensor lines emitting from the back detect a car passing by.
    Cross Traffic Monitoring

The Rear Cross Traffic Monitor* (CTM) and the available Front Cross Traffic Warning* (FCTW), an Acura-first, are designed to detect vehicles approaching from either side while in reverse and going forward, respectively. When a potential collision risk is identified, the system not only provides visual and audible warnings, but also takes proactive measures by automatically applying brake pressure when necessary.

    U.S. model shown.
  • Digital rendering, where everything is white except for the MDX. Wide rear view of grey MDX driving on road. Blue and yellow sensor lines detect the cars around it.
    Blind Spot Information* (BSI) System

Equipped with Side Blind Zone Alert* and the new Lane Change Alert*, the BSI* system is designed to monitor the rear and sides to help detect vehicles in the alert zone of adjacent lanes. Further, to help alert you when a potential collision is detected with a moving vehicle in the adjacent lane, the new and available Lane Change Collision Mitigation* is engineered to apply gentle steering assistance.

    U.S. model shown.
  • Digital rendering, where everything is white except for the MDX. 3/4 rear view of grey MDX. Blue sensor waves emitting from the front detect a traffic speed limit sign.
    Traffic Sign Recognition* (TSR)
